JPTR FX has redesigned the Silvermachine fuzz, moving the circuit from its original large, vintage-looking silvery case into a compact enclosure that matches the look of the company's other pedals1. The maker said the redesign followed customer requests and called the compact version the pedal's "now final" form2.

The pedal is a fuzz with two gain stages in a parallel circuit, controlled by two smaller knobs, plus a shared master volume1. JPTR FX describes the gain controls as interactive filters that cover "everything from low-gain sizzle to beefy 'Bender' tones and screaming 'Octafuzz' sounds," and says filter switches inside reduce high-frequency output in three steps2. Delicious Audio describes it as a solo-style fuzz that works well with single notes and, at different settings, can recall both the Fuzz Face and the Tone Bender, "but more extreme and also more open and less compressed," with a hint of upper octave1.

"After hearing your calls, we've taken one of our most in-demand pedals and meticulously redesigned it, ultimately delivering the SILVERMACHINE in its now final, compact form."

The maker says orders are placed directly with the manufacturer, with every model produced in batches2. No US list price was given.
