Keeley Electronics and Andy Timmons announced the Halo Core on 22 November 2024, a stripped-down version of the Halo dual echo that keeps mono or full stereo operation and tap tempo on its own footswitch¹. It is priced at $249, available to order now and shipping from 26 November¹.

The pedal has three knobs and a three-way toggle switch¹. Level, the largest knob, sets the output level of the delay; Time adjusts delay length from 1ms to 1500ms; and FDBK controls feedback, the number of repeats¹. The Mode Switch selects between Timmons' signature Halo mode and a 1/4 note mode¹. The Tap/Hold footswitch sets tap tempo and, held down, accesses a redesigned Infinite Hold feature¹. The Halo Core also keeps switchable trails or true bypass, all-wet or all-dry modes, and top-mounted jacks¹.

Holding the Tap/Hold footswitch gives the knobs secondary functions: Time controls a high-pass filter from 10Hz fully counterclockwise to 8750Hz fully clockwise, FDBK acts as a tone control for darkening or brightening repeats, and Level adds compression and saturation emulating a mechanical tape echo¹.

A later listing describes the pedal as having three modes, Andy's iconic Halo sound, Quarter Note and Dotted Eighth, and names Keeley's latest DSP technology, true stereo input and output, and adjustable high-pass filter, delay tone and tape-like saturation among its features². The November announcement named two modes, Halo and 1/4 note¹.

The original Halo, a signature dual echo for Timmons, was announced in June 2022; Guitar.com reported that it let players bounce between two sides, A and B, and store presets³. MusicRadar reported that Robert Keeley spent about three years designing it and that Timmons calls it the "ultimate dual echo sound"¹. The Halo Core appeared among 25 finalists in Guitar Pedal X's 2024 round-up of spatial, immersive and time-based effects, listed at $249⁴.
