Kemper announced the Profiler MK 2 Series on May 28, 2025, an overhaul of its Head, Rack, Stage, Player and powered units12. Guitar.com reports the new series brings "a new era" of profiling and digital effects1.
Each unit runs an upgraded processing engine for what Kemper describes as faster performance, with a boot time of around 20 seconds1. The MK 2 units can run 20 effect blocks at once, seven more than before, and each effect runs with zero latency1. Preset changes also promise zero latency2. The added effects are a Noise Gate (Palm Ninja), Compressor, Pure Booster, WahWah, Vintage Chorus, Air Chorus and Double Tracker1. Guitar World describes the second noise gate as a tone-changing addition2.
The profiling technology has been revised. Kemper says more than 100,000 individual frequency points are analyzed for the "most precise amp recreation ever achieved," alongside Liquid Profiling Technology for integrating the original amp's gain and tone controls and dynamically adjustable cabinet resonance1. Guitar World reports the cabinet sims gain more adjustable dynamics and what Kemper calls "the most complex [Impulse Responses] in the industry"2.
Other features include eight-channel USB audio for multitrack recording and reamping into a DAW without an external interface, an updated looper with two minutes of recording time, and faster preset switching and UI responsiveness12. Guitar World reports the MK 2 units use new lightweight aluminum components, and that screen sizes have shrunk and are no longer in color2. Guitar World gives prices generally ranging from $1,300 to $1,800, with the Profiler Remote floor unit at $469, and says the new units are expected this summer2. It also reports the Mini Kemper Profile Player will receive a software update but no new unit2.
"The new Profiler MK 2 Series makes the Profilers feel more like a complete rig than ever before."
