KMA Machines releases Fuzzly Bear 2 fuzz pedal

KMA Machines released the Fuzzly Bear 2, a revised version of its first production pedal, on April 21, 2022¹². The fuzz pedal is based on the 1970s Jordan Boss Tone circuit¹³⁴.

The original Fuzzly Bear, introduced in 2013, was KMA's first stompbox in production¹². It added a bias control and a revised circuit that gave it more low end than the Jordan Bosstone, which some players describe as reedy¹³. The Fuzzly Bear 2 keeps that circuit and adds a more compact housing, top-mounted input and output jacks, two LEDs that light the bear's eyes when the effect is engaged, relay-based silent switching and what KMA calls improved electronics¹³⁴². Gearnews reported that KMA did not expand on the electronics change⁴. Delicious Audio reported that the graphics are the same as the first version².

The controls are Volume, Gain and a Skin/Meat bias control¹³⁴. KMA describes the Gain range as running from a dirty, chunky overdrive with the knob backed off to a thick fuzz as it is turned up². The Skin/Meat knob adjusts the bias of the circuit².

Guitar World and MusicRadar both listed the price as $199¹³. Gearnews listed a European price of 179 euros at Thomann⁴.
