Mad Professor has released the Super Black Mini, a compact version of its Super Black preamp and overdrive, according to Premier Guitar¹. The pedal is part of Mad Professor's factory series, manufactured in Taiwan, and preorders are open at the company's site with shipping set for July 1¹.

The Mini removes the secondary Sweet Honey Overdrive section of the original mid-sized unit, which the maker says results in a much smaller enclosure². It keeps the core controls: Bass, Middle, Treble, Gain, Volume and Presence, plus Bass Cut and Compression toggle switches²³. The original added a preamp footswitch and, in the Sweet Honey section, Volume, Drive and a drive footswitch³.

Mad Professor describes the circuit as fully analog and says it maps the signal path of a classic tube amplifier, with increased headroom and a higher output level than the original². Premier Guitar lists an all analog design with zero latency and power from 9V to 18V, with higher voltages giving increased headroom¹. The pedal can run in front of an amp as an overdrive or serve as a standalone preamp into a cabinet IR or an amp's FX loop return²¹.

Pricing is reported differently. Premier Guitar gives a suggested retail price of 219 euros¹. Guitar Pedal X, writing in January, said the pedal was listed without a price and estimated 239 euros, possibly 249, against original Super Black pricing of 279 euros, $299 and 223 pounds³. No US list price appears in either report.
