Madbean Pedals issues HoneyDripper24 with 4-layer PCB and dual OTA support

Madbean Pedals published the HoneyDripper24 on July 20, 2024, a revision of its DIY project board based on the Colorsound Dipthonizer. The maker describes the 2024 version as "a new, 4-layer PCB layout"1.
The Madbean project is a filter effect, listed at intermediate build level, that the maker says is based on the Dipthonizer, which it calls "a very unusual and short lived auto-wah type effect" made for only a couple of years in the late 1970s1. The maker states the effect is built from two parallel multiple feedback filters whose intensity is controlled by an envelope, with a four-way rotary switch changing the vowel sound1.
The board carries three controls: Fuzz, a 10kB pot that blends between clean and fuzz at the input; Sweep, a 10kB pot that sets envelope intensity; and Mode, a 2P4T rotary switch with positions labeled Yeh, Bow, Wah and Aae1. The maker notes the stock unit runs fuzz at counterclockwise and clean at clockwise, and that this has been reversed on the HoneyDripper so fuzz blends in as the control turns clockwise1. The maker also states the circuit has some hiss inherent to the design and a bit of volume boost, and that there was no room for a volume control on the layout; a 100k pot or trimmer in place of R18 is given as a way to add one1.
The revision lets a builder use two CA3080 chips at IC2 and IC3 or a single LM13700, with the substitution made on a breakout board included with the project1. The maker lists current draw at 35mA for both OTA types1. The board is compatible with the SSBP and SSABP bypass boards sold at madbeanpedals1.
