Mooer announced the Prime P2 on October 31, 2023, the next generation of its ultra-compact P1 audio interface and multi-effects1. Guitar World reported the unit as available now for $2562; Gearnews gave a manufacturer's suggested retail price of EUR 2391.
The P2 is a multi-effects unit that also works as an amp and cab modeler and an audio interface2. It has a 1.3-inch touchscreen, which Gearnews called a substantial upgrade over the P11, and Guitar World said is used to navigate the effects catalog2. Connectivity includes Bluetooth for audio playback and a USB-C port for recording1.

Guitar World reported that the amp models were created using Mooer's MNRS technology, which the company says allows for top-notch digital amp tones in the P2's format2. The effect chain is fully customizable, with blocks arrangeable in any order1. Presets can be saved and recalled and shared through the Mooer Tone Cloud, and a free mobile app allows sound editing and preset organization12. A smart device can control the tuner, drum machine, metronome and looper1. Mooer recommends its F-Series wireless footswitch, sold separately, for hands-free operation, and a MIDI interface is available for preset switching, looper and drum machine functions via CC commands from an external controller1. A headphone jack handles silent practice, and the TRRS headphone input supports headphones with a built-in microphone1.
"The new Mooer Prime P2 is the next generation of its ultra-compact P1 audio interface and multi-effects."
Guitar World noted the P2's effects list is smaller than the P1's, which housed 126 built-in effects2.
