Nobels announced the ODR-1X and the ODR-Mini 2, updates to its ODR overdrive line, in reports published on September 27 and September 30, 2024¹²³. Guitar World reported that the ODR-1X arrives 30 years after the ODR-1's initial release and that Nobels made the changes in response to player feedback².

Both pedals add a variable Bass Cut control to the existing Drive, Spectrum and Level controls¹². Guitar Pedal X described the Bass Cut as helping "to tame and adjust the low end"¹. The Spectrum control is a double filter tone control that, per the maker, "simultaneously cut/boost bass and treble frequencies"¹². The ODR-1X adds an external Gain Boost push-button with a remote control option, a remote input jack, and an internal switch for choosing between true bypass and buffered bypass¹²³. The ODR-Mini 2 gains an upgraded metal enclosure and true bypass¹³. Both pedals have glow-in-the-dark pointer knobs and four integrated Mounty-P mounting plates¹²³.

"The compact ODR-1X also gets an external Gain Boost push-button, and inside the battery bay we now have an easy-access switch for flipping between True and Buffered Bypass."
