Nordvang Custom has published the Wingman V2.0, an update to its dual overdrive pedal, the maker's product page shows. Delicious Audio reported the update on January 27, 2023, describing it as improving the device's circuitry and adding a TRS split function for pedal looper systems1.
The Wingman is a dual overdrive built from two identical overdrives based on what the maker calls the "mythical K-style circuit"2. Each side has its own footswitch and external controls for gain, tone and volume, plus a two-position Low Gain toggle that adjusts the maximum gain range21. An order toggle switch between the two sides flips the internal order of the effects and the signal path from guitar to amp2. Internally, each side has a set of dip switches labeled lows that extends bass response2.
The V2.0 changes, per the maker: a TRS split function for looper systems such as the GigRig, enabled via three internal dip switches; the buffer retained from the original with added switching options; and all internal op amp supply voltage changed to +/- 9 Volt for better signal handling when stacking the two sides2. The maker also lists an internal supply voltage boosted to 18 Volt for increased headroom in all gain stages2.
"By popular demand the Wingman v2.0 now features a TRS split function to use with pedal looper systems like the GigRig etc. The TRS split is enabled via three internal dip switches."
Delicious Audio describes Nordvang as a Norwegian company focused on dual-channel overdrives in which at least one side is a Klon-style circuit, and calls the Wingman V2 a dual Klone1.
