PastFX has announced the Gallstone, a recreation of the vintage Electro-Harmonix Small Stone V2 phaser with additional controls. Delicious Audio reported the pedal on October 22, 20251; Guitar Pedal X published its write-up on October 16, 20252.

The maker describes the Gallstone as a true-bypass operational transconductance amplifier (OTA) phaser3. A 2/4 stage pushbutton switches between modes, with a red LED indicating 4-stage mode, which the maker calls the stock original, and a blue LED indicating 2-stage phasing3. Mix, feedback and rate controls are on the top panel, along with a Level control that the maker says corrects the volume drop of the original3. An LED indicates the LFO3.

The original's two-position Color switch is split into separate controls. An 8-way rotary Width control and a separate feedback control replace it; the maker states that Color "On" equates to Width position 8 with feedback at maximum, and Color "Off" equates to Width position 5 with feedback fully off3. A Voice pushbutton switches between two feedback network versions3. The Expand control switches in what the maker calls an extra bit of additional circuitry, described as a tuned 2-stage high "Q" all-pass filter3. A Range switch offers standard or super-slow LFO sweeps3. Guitar Pedal X also lists an internal max feedback trimmer2.

The pedal runs on 9V DC via a 2.1mm Boss-style negative-tip jack and draws 80mA, in a 1590B enclosure3. The maker notes that on first power-up, especially in slow range mode, the circuit may take a few seconds to charge before it functions, and calls this expected behavior3. Guitar Pedal X gives a typical price of $203 on PastFX's webstore and Reverb.com store2.

"Our recreation of the vintage EHX Small Stone V2 loaded with extra features to expand its palette while retaining the legendary sounds of the original."

Guitar Pedal X's Stefan Karlsson wrote that the output "can get somewhat distorted if you crank up the Level and Feedback"2. Delicious Audio described the Gallstone as "a faithful recreation of that classic circuit"1.
