The Hamstead x TPS Redwing, an all-analog stereo modulator from Hamstead Soundworks and That Pedal Show, came to market in November 2024, That Pedal Show said1. The show said the first run sold through quickly and became highly sought after1.
According to Guitar Pedal X, the Redwing covers chorus and vibrato, flanger, ring modulation and rotary speaker sounds2. Its front controls are gain (makeup gain above +6dB), blend (full dry to full wet), active bass and treble at ±15dB, manual delay time, modulation width, regen/feedback, speed with a hi/lo switch, a manual offset switch with a ± knob, and wave shape (asymmetric, sine or triangle) with a shape control for wave symmetry2. The rear has input (stereo via TRS and an internal dip switch), control EXP for speed, phase in/out, hold remote for maximum regen/feedback, stereo mode (stereo or wet/dry), right and left outputs, and 9-24V DC at 350mA2. Three internal dip switches set power-up mode, input mode (stereo or mono) and bypass mode (buffer or true)2. Guitar Pedal X counted nine internal trim pots2.
Guitar Pedal X gave the US price as $559 and reported the pedal was in general distribution, including at Andertons2. That Pedal Show said Hamstead had made 100 more units before Peter, of Hamstead, takes indefinite leave to concentrate on the wellbeing of his wife1.
"The only downside is that you can't preserve all those different killer settings - and need to dial them in by ear each and every time!"
