Pettyjohn Electronics has discontinued the CoreX series of overdrive and distortion pedals, the maker said in an update dated October 1, 2026 on the product page. "We have just discovered the power supply this pedal series is designed around is being discontinued so we are forced to discontinue the COREX series for now until we can find a suitable replacement."
The CoreX line was listed at a price from $299.00, and the page marks it out of stock, with the note "Stock: SOLD OUT! Thank you!!!"1. The series offered 11 voices in one shared enclosure, each with five knobs for Gain, Level, Lows, Highs and Tilt EQ1. The maker lists OPA Burr-Brown input and output buffers, through-hole components including Wima and Orange Drop capacitors and NOS Allen & Bradley resistors in the signal path, true bypass, and a charge pump with voltage doubling1. The Lows control sweeps from 30Hz to 1kHz before the gain stage, and the Highs control sweeps from 22kHz down to 1kHz after it, both at 6dB/oct1. The page also lists internal doubling from a 7v to 18v power input, a draw of 100mA, and dimensions of 117.2mm x 90mm x 39mm at 1 lb1. The pedals are described as designed for guitars, bass and keys, and as designed and hand wired in the Pacific Northwest, USA1.
The 11 versions were DOOM, MIDS, RARE, GLASS, NASH, ODI, EDGE, ROUS, EMBR, FIVE, MERICA and MOSS, each voiced after a different dirt circuit1. The page also listed two custom shop mods, a Highs Emerson Mod at $40 and a Transparent Mod at $301.
