Gamechanger Audio ships RECODER after limited Black Friday 2025 run

Gamechanger Audio has completed the production run of the RECODER, a phrase-driven spectral effects pedal sold as a limited release. The company says all units ordered during the pre-order window have been manufactured and are now shipping¹. It describes the release as "a special one-time release, available for one month between Black Friday and Xmas 2025"².

The RECODER records a phrase and uses its spectral content to reshape a live input rather than playing the phrase back like a looper. The maker calls it a "Spectral Morphing Workstation" and says the pedal was built around the question of "how can we build an effects pedal where no two units will ever sound the same?"¹². Audio can be captured from the main input, a dedicated REC input or an internal microphone².

Its analysis engine runs a high-resolution FFT measuring both signals across 1024 frequency bands, with a RESOLUTION control refreshing the spectral snapshots at intervals from 5ms to 40ms and 80ms¹. Four shared endless encoders control three color-coded layers: WHITE for input modification and feel, YELLOW for slices, resonances and repeats, and RED for reshaping the modulator, which includes a tilt EQ, drive and bit-reduction engines and pitch shift "4x up and down"¹.

The two maker pages differ on phrase length. One page states a maximum of up to 10 minutes per phrase², while the same page elsewhere gives a maximum recording time of 12 seconds². The other page describes short phrases of 20-100ms acting as spectral snapshots and longer phrases as a moving modifier¹. The maker also says each captured phrase can be stored in one of 234 memory slots².

Gamechanger Audio says a small number of B-stock or surplus units may become available, with a sign-up list for notifications on a first-come, first-serve basis¹. No US price is given on either page.
