Oscillator Devices lists Siren-v2 firmware 2.1.1 as legacy update

March 26, 2025 · 1 sources

Oscillator Devices lists Siren-v2 firmware version 2.1.1, dated 26th March 2025, among the legacy firmware updates on its site1. The page is addressed to owners of devices bought before April 15, 2025, or of a Trash Panda Quad from the US warehouse purchased before September 15, 2025, who want to perform a firmware update1.

The update is delivered as a MIDI SysEx file, Siren-2.1.1.syx, and the maker says the transfer takes approximately two minutes1. A MIDI interface with a MIDI output is required, and the maker warns that not all interfaces handle large SysEx files reliably; an update that fails midway can leave the device erased1. The maker lists the RME Fireface, ESX MIDIMATE ex, SSL 12, MOTU Micro Lite and MOTU M4 as tested and working, and the Morningstar MC6 MkII, CME WIDI uHOST and PirateMIDI as tested and not working for the legacy update1. On Windows the maker has tested a MIDI SysEx file transfer utility, and on macOS it points to SysEX Librarian1.

During the update the Siren reports its state on two LEDs: Phase is LED1 and CH B Red is LED21. LED1 on with LED2 off means the device is ready to receive the update; LED1 on with LED2 blinking means the update is in progress; LED1 off means the update failed and should be tried again1. The maker says a device with a failed update may appear unresponsive but will still accept a new attempt1.

"You'll need a MIDI interface for your PC with a MIDI output."

The same page lists HYDRA4X version 1.1.2, dated 3rd December 2025, and Trash Panda Quad version 1.4.0, dated 23rd December 2025, as legacy updates1. The Trash Panda Quad download is named Trash-Panda-Quad-1.4.1.syx, while the table gives the version as 1.4.01.
