Spun Loud Effects releases Structures FVZZ fuzz pedal with Structures Brewing

Spun Loud Effects released the Structures FVZZ, a fuzz pedal made with Structures Brewing, on July 11, 2024, according to Bass Magazine¹. Guitar World reported the same day that the pedal costs $165 and is available today².

The pedal is built around a two-stage fuzz circuit with germanium and LED clipping¹. Bass Magazine describes the first stage, using germanium clipping, as getting fuzzy as soon as the gain is turned up, while the second stage, built around LED clipping, can offer more overdrive-like tones and raises the output as gain increases¹. Delicious Audio describes the second stage as combining an LED with a Darlington transistor³. The gain stages have independent controls¹. Guitar World reports a tone knob that can cut or boost high frequencies², and Delicious Audio says the tone control mostly affects high frequencies³. Guitar World reports players can find unity somewhere around noon or just above on the volume knob, depending on the second stage's gain².

Spun Loud lists WIMA, TDK and Wurth capacitors, Lumberg or Neutrik audio and DC jacks, Gorva Design 3PDT switches, internal power filtering and UV printed art¹. The pedal runs on a standard center-negative 9V power supply only¹. It is designed, assembled and tested by hand in Bellingham, Washington¹. The purple finish takes its art from the FVZZ IPA can, and the scratch font labels were hand-drawn by Structures Brewing's Jonny Wilkerson¹.
