Tech 21 is offering the Geddy Lee YYZ Shape-shifter Signature SansAmp, following the sell-out of the Geddy Lee MP40 Limited Edition Signature SansAmp¹². The maker said the MP40 "sold out so fast, it made our heads spin," and that the new pedal has "the same features and functionality of the MP40"¹. MusicRadar reported that "those who grab this will have the exact same circuit at their disposal"³.

The all-analog pedal builds on the original YYZ with a selectable Boost stomp switch that provides a 12dB presence boost for increased top-end distortion; the Shape-shifter button adds 6dB more on top¹². Controls include a Mix control blending high-end studio clean (Deep) and dirty bass tube amp tones (Drive), a Tight button, Drive, active 3-band EQ and Master volume¹². The built-in speaker simulation covers preamp, power amp and speaker stages, and the pedal can drive a power amp and speakers, augment an existing amplifier setup, or run directly into a PA mixer¹.

The pedal measures 3.75" x 4.75" x 2" and runs on a 9V alkaline battery (not included) or an optional DC power supply, Tech 21 model #DC9¹. The owner's manual includes sample settings such as Geddy Lee's Personal Setting, YYZ, Rickenbacker Shape-shifter, Camera Eye, Red Barchetta, Warm Tube/Studio and Bi-amped Overdrive¹⁴. MusicRadar listed it at $249 street³. Tech 21 said the color scheme and graphics match Lee's other Signature SansAmps, the GED-2112 rackmount, DI-2112 desk-top and YYZ single footswitch pedal¹.
