Third Man Hardware and Black Mountain announced the Roto-Echo delay pedal on August 27, 20251. The pedal is a compact delay with an integrated roller wheel that lets players change delay parameters with their feet while playing21.

The Roto-Echo has three knobs, Time, Blend and Feedback, and a slider switch that selects which of the three the roller wheel controls1. Black Mountain calls the wheel mechanism Freewheel Technology23. MusicRadar describes the circuit as built around a PT2399 echo/delay chip1; Pedal of the Day says the signal path combines digital delay processing with analog circuitry4, while RockBoard's PedalPedia lists the circuit type as analog2. MusicRadar gives a delay range from a 30ms slapback setting up to about 600ms1; Pedal of the Day states 60ms to 588ms4. The pedal is true bypass15, takes 9V DC center-negative power at 100mA25, and is built to take a player's full body weight21. It is the same size as a regular Boss-style pedal25; Guitar Pedal X describes the enclosure as 1590-BB-sized with side-mounted input, output and power sockets6.

MusicRadar reports a price of $279 and says the pedal comes in black or limited edition yellow1. Guitar Pedal X lists the standard pedal at $279 and the Third Man yellow edition at $299, available exclusively from the Third Man Hardware store6. Gearnews gives an MSRP of $2793.

"Instead of tweaking delay parameters with your fingers, the pedal's Freewheel® Technology allows players to change them with their feet in real-time as they play"

MusicRadar reports that Jack White has already used the Roto-Echo when recording No Name and that it was on his touring pedalboard1. Pedal of the Day attributes the Freewheel wheel system to Black Mountain founder Cole McBride4.
