The ThorpyFX Hanami Germanium 4-Stage Blooming Fuzz is available now from the ThorpyFX webstore and from dealers, Guitar Pedal X reported on May 6, 2025¹. MusicRadar and Delicious Audio both published on the pedal the following day²³, and Gearnews on May 9⁴.

The pedal is a fuzz that combines the Fallout Cloud's 4-stage Triangle Big Muff style circuit with the Boneyard Multi-Bender's germanium texture and dynamics, according to Guitar Pedal X¹. MusicRadar describes it as sitting somewhere between the Tone Bender-inspired Boneyard and the Big Muff-inspired Fallout Cloud². ThorpyFX says the design was completed two years ago, but Adrian Thorpe was not happy with the name².

The circuit uses four NOS mil-spec germanium transistors, which Guitar Pedal X says are equivalent to OC45s, plus one NOS germanium diode¹²³⁴. It has a transformer-isolated input, which ThorpyFX says allows flexible board placement²⁴. It runs on 9V DC from a pedalboard power supply, and the jacks are mounted on the top of the unit². The enclosure is laser-cut black anodized aluminum with white side panels and a cherry blossom design⁴.

The controls are Level, Boost, Treble and Bass¹². Guitar Pedal X says the layout is the same as the Fallout Cloud's, with slightly different labels in place of Volume, Sustain, Treble and Bass¹. Gearnews lists the controls as Volume, Boost, Treble and Bass⁴. MusicRadar says Boost sets the amount of saturation, and that ThorpyFX reports unity gain at around 10 o'clock on the volume dial². The Treble and Bass controls are designed to be interactive²⁴.

Pricing differs between reports. 99⁴. The pedal can be ordered with or without a custom "blossom" print Barefoot Button for the footswitch². Gearnews describes it as a limited run because of the NOS components⁴. Guitar Pedal X also noted that ThorpyFX released MKII editions of the Heavy Water and Field Marshall with the same interior circuits but different enclosure artwork¹.
