MWFX said it will release 10 units of a true bypass version of its Judder pedal and 15 of the regular version on December 13 at 6pm GMT1. The Somerset, UK maker builds the pedals in house and sells direct2.
The Judder is described by MWFX as "a mid-fi looper that switches between record and playback neatly to create choppy and instantly renewable loops on the fly"1. The maker says its analog switches and controls let normal sounds become modulated and surreal, and that it can also be set up as a normal echo or delay1.
The pedal has four knobs: dry signal volume, feedback/number of repeats (center position near infinite), modulation amount, and LFO rate/envelope sensitivity1. Five toggle switches set mode (sound on sound, mute and loop, mute), loop length range (short, medium, long), auto switch (trigger, off, duck), modulation type (up, smooth, down) and control (LFO, mixed, envelope)1. The right footswitch is momentary and switches to playback; the left is latching and inverts the momentary action to hold the loop1.
