Walrus Audio released a v2 revision of its Mako D1 delay in 2022, with changes the maker says were based on user feedback¹². The D1 is a multi-mode stereo delay pedal with five programs: Digital, Modulated, Vintage, Dual and Reverse¹.

The maker lists four changes in v2: a stereo width control offering two widening types, Panning and Haas Stereo Effect; USB functionality for firmware updates via walrusaudio.io; a retooled Reverse program for a stronger effect; and a retooled Vintage program to emulate a tape delay¹². The original D1 launched in January 2020 as the first pedal in the Mako Series².

Each program is adjusted with the Tweak knob, a Mod toggle for modulation on the repeats, and controls for tone and age, with subdivisions switchable between quarter, eighth and dotted eighth¹. The Attack knob softens the attack of the echoes¹. The pedal stores up to nine onboard presets, or up to 128 via MIDI, and offers stereo in and out, MIDI control and three bypass modes: True Bypass, DSP+True Bypass (trails) and DSP Bypass¹. It has global and preset tempo modes, and holding the tap switch ramps up the repeats¹.

The enclosure is anodized silver aluminum, and the power supply is not included¹. Delicious Audio reported a US retail price of $349 at launch, available at walrusaudio.com and authorized dealers². The listing on Walrus Audio's site shows the pedal sold out¹.

Guitar.com later noted the distinction between this revision and the MkII generation that followed: "The D1 had an upgrade in 2022," it wrote, adding, "but don't confuse v2 with MkII"³.
