Wampler and Cory Wong released the Wong Compressor, a dual-footswitch compressor and boost pedal, on April 25, 2023¹². Guitar.com reported the pedal was available for purchase at launch¹.

The pedal puts a tweaked version of the EGO Compressor on one side and a custom switchable boost on the other, each with its own footswitch¹. The compressor side has volume, sustain, attack and blend controls¹. Guitar World and Delicious Audio also list a tone control, described as Brian Wampler's "signature Tone control"³⁴. The blend control sets the amount of dry and compressed signal in the compressor circuit¹. The boost side has a single rotary boost control and a profile switch that moves the circuit from a flat boost to a saturated boost with added emphasis around 550Hz¹. Guitar World and Delicious Audio report the boost circuit is based on classic MDX Strat-style circuitry once favored by Eric Clapton³⁴.

A side-mounted Comp On switch keeps the compressor engaged permanently, which Gearnews says suits Wong because he leaves his compressor on all the time²³⁴. The pedal has a balanced XLR output and a ground lift switch, so it can run to an amp and a recording interface or PA at once¹²⁴. The main LED shows which side is active: green for the compressor, blue for the boost and purple for both, according to Gearnews; Delicious Audio says the LED turns rainbow white when both are on²⁴. The finish is aqua blue with white knobs and chrome detailing¹.

Guitar.com gives the US price as $269.97¹. Guitar World gives $270³. Gearnews lists a European MSRP of EUR 299².

Gearnews reports Wong owns 43 compressor pedals by his own admission and uses studio rack compressors². Guitar World notes it is his second signature pedal in two years, after the Jackson Audio Optimist dual overdrive in 2022³.
