The Anasounds Full Story FX Teacher electronic kit is a do-it-yourself kit for a fuzz pedal: you get the components and the printed circuit board, and you solder the pedal together yourself. Anasounds positions the FX Teacher range as a way to learn electronics at the same time, describing the kit as one that "will allow you to assemble and customize a legendary effect yourself, while learning the basics of electronics"1.
The circuit the kit builds is a massive disto-fuzz. Anasounds says the Full Story "takes the sound of the legendary massive disto-fuzz created in the United States in 1969"2, and the same lineage is given on the electronic kit's own page3. Once built, the result is a standard-sized pedal with three pots and two switches3.
What comes in the kit
The electronic kit is the components and PCB alone: Anasounds lists it plainly as "The Full Story electronic kit alone"3. The enclosure is not part of it, so the kit is aimed at builders who already have a box or want to choose their own.
The full kit is the version with everything in one package. Anasounds lists its contents as4:
- One Full Story enclosure with FX Teacher design and all holes already drilled
- One kit with all the necessary components
- One Full Story PCB
- One Tone Cards PCB
- One true bypass kit with 3PDT
- Three transparent knobs
- One bag of bonus components to better customize it
A separate enclosure kit is also sold, containing a Full Story enclosure with the Anasounds design and all holes already drilled, three transparent knobs, and a power supply jack screwed and glued to the box5. Anasounds notes it does not include a tester for the FX Teacher method, soldering tools, the Full Story electronic components kit, or a true bypass kit with 3PDT or relay5.
The versions sit at different prices, which makes the choice between them fairly clear:
| Version | What you get | Price |
|---|---|---|
| PCB only | The circuit board alone | 19,90 €6 |
| Electronic kit | All components and the PCB | 79,00 €3 |
| Enclosure kit | Drilled enclosure, knobs, power jack | 59,00 €5 |
| Full kit | Everything: enclosure, components, PCBs, bypass kit, knobs, bonus parts | 129,00 €4 |
| Already assembled | A finished, tested and adjusted pedal with assembled Tone Cards | 179,00 €2 |
The assembled version is described by Anasounds as "One Full Story pedal assembled, tested, adjusted, with an assembled Tone Cards FX Teacher. In short, completely finished"2, plus a bag of bonus components. Anasounds also runs masterclasses around the kit, where the kit price is included and builders are supervised, coming home with a working pedal1.
Controls and clipping
The pedal keeps its control surface small: three pots and two switches3. Both switches are three-position, and both are about shaping the saturation rather than adding features.
The "clip" switch selects the kind of clipping the disto-fuzz uses. Anasounds describes the three positions as3:
- 1N914 diodes, like the original circuit
- Your own diodes, fitted via a terminal block
- No clipping at all, for a more natural overdrive
The manual adds detail on the included clipping cards: red LEDs "for a wider and modern sound with a large and rich spectrum," or an asymmetric clipping with a 2N7000 mosfet transistor that Anasounds describes as a compromise between the original clipping and the LEDs7. On the upper position of the Clip control, the manual specifies 1N914 diodes "for the original clipping of the pedal that inspired the Full Story"7. Anasounds' own technical analysis of the circuit explains that the clipping stages "will each amplify the signal, then clip it with the clipping diodes"8, and that the 1N914 clipping is selected with the CLIP switch down on the FX Teacher8.
The "mid" switch changes the texture of the sound. Its three positions are the original position, with a deep midrange for what Anasounds calls the "wall of sound" aspect, a position that boosts the midrange, and a "custom" position where you choose a capacitor via an internal terminal3. Anasounds describes the clip switch's effect in the same terms: it changes the compression and dynamics of the saturation9.
Tone Cards
Tone Cards are the Full Story's modular hook. Anasounds describes them as "mini-circuits that allow you to radically change" the pedal's personality, and the FX Teacher Full Story is compatible with all of them2. The electronic kit comes with the most popular version as standard3.
Beyond the stock cards, Anasounds sells a Tone Cards kit that contains a Tone Cards PCB, all the components of the Tone Cards FX Teacher, and additional components to modify the circuit and create a unique sound10. A full pack of three Tone Cards, including the two Anasounds versions and the FX Teacher version, was listed at 99,00 € in October 2026, down from an original price of 129,00 €11.
A circuit from 1969
The Full Story's lineage is the constant across every version. Anasounds' product pages all describe it as taking the sound of "the legendary massive disto-fuzz created in the United States in 1969"325. The finished Anasounds Full Story pedal carries the same circuit, and the FX Teacher version is the DIY route to it, available as a kit or pre-assembled2.
Anasounds frames the kit as more than a build: the masterclass program and the FX Teacher method are part of the range's identity, with supervised sessions where builders leave with a working pedal1. The bag of bonus components included with the full kit4 and the extra parts in the Tone Cards kit10 both push in the same direction, toward modifying the circuit rather than only assembling it.

Questions
Is the Anasounds Full Story FX Teacher a kit or a finished pedal?
It is sold both ways. The electronic kit is the components and PCB you solder yourself, with the enclosure sold separately. A full kit adds the drilled enclosure, and an already assembled version comes as a finished, tested and adjusted pedal with an assembled Tone Cards board. Anasounds also runs masterclasses where the kit price is included and you go home with a working pedal.
Does the Full Story kit include the enclosure?
The electronic kit alone does not; it is the components and PCB only. The full kit includes a Full Story enclosure with the FX Teacher design and all holes already drilled, plus the components kit, the Full Story PCB, a Tone Cards PCB, a true bypass 3PDT kit, three transparent knobs and a bag of bonus components. A separate enclosure kit is also sold.
What are Tone Cards on the Anasounds Full Story?
Tone Cards are mini-circuits that plug into the pedal and radically change its personality. The Full Story is compatible with all FX Teacher Tone Cards, and the electronic kit comes with the most popular version as standard. A Tone Cards kit is also sold with a PCB, all the FX Teacher card components and additional parts for creating your own unique circuit.
What diodes does the Full Story use for clipping?
The clip switch has three positions. One selects 1N914 diodes, the original clipping of the pedal that inspired the Full Story. One lets you fit your own diodes via a terminal block, and the included clipping cards offer red LEDs or asymmetric clipping with a 2N7000 mosfet. The third position removes clipping entirely for a more natural overdrive.
How much does the Full Story electronic kit cost?
Anasounds lists the electronic kit at 79,00 €. The full kit is 129,00 €, the already assembled version is 179,00 €, the enclosure kit is 59,00 € and the PCB only is 19,90 €. A Full Story Tone Cards full pack of three cards was listed at 99,00 € in October 2026, reduced from an original 129,00 €.
Do I need to know how to solder to build it?
The electronic kit is a do-it-yourself project, so you assemble and solder the pedal yourself while learning the basics of electronics, which is the stated purpose of the FX Teacher range. Soldering tools are not included. Anasounds also offers supervised masterclasses where the kit price is included and builders come home with a working pedal.
