The Behringer BM-15M RESONANCE FILTER is an analog filter pedal that recreates the Moog MF-105M MIDI MuRF, a discontinued pattern-controlled filter from Moog's Moogerfooger line. Behringer describes it as "the ultimate filtering machine," designed to bring motion, groove and life to your sound through eight filters, selectable patterns, MIDI control, and expressive modulation options12.
Where a standard envelope filter or wah sweeps one band, the BM-15M runs a bank of eight resonant filters that are stepped through in patterns, so the filtering moves rhythmically rather than just up and down. Guitar World described it as designed to add movement to a guitar signal via its warping filters, selectable patterns, and expressive modulation3. It launched in June 2025 as the Behringer BM-15M Murf Box, priced at $1293, and gearnews later listed it at $129.00, £114.00 and 137.00 euros as of September 20254.
A Moog MuRF clone
The BM-15M is Behringer's recreation of the Moogerfooger MF-105M MIDI MuRF. gearnews's Stefan Wyeth described the original as "an 8-band pattern-controlled stereo filter with selectable preset patterns, MIDI sync, and a range of r"5, and reported that Behringer's recreation of the MF-105M was in production and arriving in stores5. Guitar World called the BM-15M "another on-the-nose clone" from Behringer3.
The original MuRF, documented by Vintage Synth Explorer, used an 8-band array of resonant filters switchable for Mids and Bass, with a Drive effect, a rotary envelope control, an LFO that switches off or on, and no oscillators2. Vintage Synth Explorer sums up what it does to a sound: "Whether it's morphing drones, stuttering lead lines, filtering drum patterns, or space age sequences, the Moog MIDI MuRF"2. The BM-15M carries over the same core ideas: eight filters, a Bass/Mid frequency range switch, envelope shaping, an LFO toggle, and a drive control135.
Behringer has built several other filter recreations alongside this one, including the B-Tron III Envelope Filter, a Mu-Tron III clone, and the Meatball, a clone of the 1995 Lovetone Meatball.
Controls and connections
The front panel carries eight filter sliders, six dials, and two mini-switches3.
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Eight filter sliders | Set the level of each of the eight filter bands3 |
| Envelope dial | Staccato or legato-style transitions between filters3 |
| Mix dial | Blends between wet and dry sounds1 |
| Rate dial | Sets the speed of the pattern movement13 |
| Drive dial | Pushes the signal into warm, saturated harmonics13 |
| Pattern dial | Selects the filter sequencing pattern3 |
| Output dial | Sets the output level3 |
| Frequency mini-switch | Switches the filter range between Bass and Mid modes35 |
| LFO mini-switch | Toggles the LFO feature on and off3 |
The frequency range of the filters can be switched from the low end to the midrange5, which lets the pedal sit usefully with bass as well as guitar.
MIDI, USB and the Guitar Tribe app
The BM-15M has MIDI control and integration, which Behringer says lets you lock the filter effects perfectly to the beat1. Besides MIDI, it also has a USB-C connection for interfacing with the latest gear5.
Behringer also offers Guitar Tribe, a free companion app for Mac and PC that connects the pedals directly to a computer for creating and saving custom presets and accessing additional features1.
Expression pedal control
An expression pedal can be connected for real-time control over the ever-evolving sound1. Guitar World's reviewer found this worthwhile, writing that "Pairing it with an expression pedal offers a more organic manipulation experience of what this thing can do"3.

Questions
Is the Behringer BM-15M analog or digital?
It is analog. Behringer describes the BM-15M as an analog vintage pedal MIDI box, and its filter section is a recreation of the analog Moog MF-105M MIDI MuRF. The MIDI and USB-C connections handle control and syncing rather than the audio path.
Does the BM-15M have MIDI?
Yes. The pedal has MIDI control and integration, which Behringer says lets you lock the filter effects to the beat. It also has a USB-C connection for interfacing with modern gear, and Behringer's free Guitar Tribe app for Mac and PC connects the pedal to a computer for custom presets.
What is the Behringer Murf Box?
The Murf Box is the name used at launch for the Behringer BM-15M, a $129 recreation of the discontinued Moog MF-105M MIDI MuRF. It is an 8-band pattern-controlled stereo filter that adds movement to a guitar signal through warping filters, selectable patterns, and expressive modulation.
Can the BM-15M be controlled with an expression pedal?
Yes. Behringer says an expression pedal gives hands-on control over the evolving sound, and Guitar World's reviewer noted that pairing it with an expression pedal offers a more organic way to manipulate what the pedal can do.
How much does the Behringer BM-15M cost?
It launched at $129 in the United States, with gearnews listing it at $129.00, £114.00 and 137.00 euros as of September 2025. Guitar World reported it as out now for $129 at launch in June 2025.
