The Cusack Music Rebound is a multi-program delay pedal built by Cusack Music, listed at $260.001. It features tap tempo and an expression pedal input, and a TAP DIVISIONS switch that lets you choose between quarter note, eighth note, and dotted eighth note delay1. It is a compact pedal, 4.75 x 3.85 x 2.25 inches (L x D x H)1. Its MOD program is described as a warm analog delay with a controllable depth of modulation that varies from smooth chorus to throbbing vibrato12.
The Rebound is also sold as factory B stock at a lower price: a B-stock listing shows it at $221.00, down from a listed $260.002. Cusack Music describes B stock pedals as being in perfect working condition, possibly with minor scratches, paint chips, overspray, misprint, or other small finishing blemishes but no major defects, and they come with the original box, box goodies, and warranty2.
The eight delay programs
The Rebound's eight programs cover the main flavors of delay a player might want, from warm analog repeats to experimental pitch shifting1.
| Program | What it does |
|---|---|
| MOD | Warm analog delay with controllable modulation depth, from smooth chorus to throbbing vibrato1 |
| ANALOG | Analog-style delay repeats1 |
| TAPE | Tape-style delay; control the age and tone of the tape to find a vintage sweet spot1 |
| DIGI-PONG | Ping-pong style delay1 |
| Dual | Two different delay times for poly-rhythms, or one delay time layered over your main delay for ambience1 |
| REVERSE | Reverse delay; control the pitch of the repeats for deep brooding bass or shimmery atmospheric pads, and swelling pads1 |
| DUCKING | Ducks the initial delay behind the notes so your attack stays smooth while ambient trails decay1 |
| PITCH | Dedicated pitch delay for experimental sounds; lower pitches sound like menacing regenerations, higher pitches like chimey specs of cosmic dust1 |
A few programs deserve a closer look. Dual lets you manipulate two different delay times to create poly-rhythms, or simply use one delay time to add a bit of ambience to your main delay; Cusack says this program sounds best in stereo, where it reacts similarly to DIGI-PONG1. DUCKING addresses a common delay complaint: the repeats sit behind your notes rather than on top of them, keeping the attack clean. PITCH is the most experimental of the set, and Cusack notes it pairs with the Brake controls to create wild sound effects1. In REVERSE, the lower you set the pitch of the repeats, the longer the delay times can be1.
Controls and footswitches
The Rebound has three footswitches: a left bypass switch, a middle TAP-TEMPO/FLOAT switch, and a right bypass switch2. The two bypass switches carry extra functions when held: holding the left switch engages BRAKE DOWN, and holding the right switch engages BRAKE UP12.
- Middle switch, tapped: sets the delay time1
- Middle switch, held a few milliseconds longer: engages FLOAT, which freezes the delay feedback at a level that lets you hold a passage1
- Left bypass switch, held: engages BRAKE DOWN2
- Right bypass switch, held: engages BRAKE UP1
A TAP DIVISIONS switch selects quarter note, eighth note, or dotted eighth note delay1. The preset switching system cycles through banks completely hands free, with Left and Right presets shown in bank colors1. An expression pedal input is also on board1.
Power, bypass, and connections
The Rebound runs on a standard 9V DC center negative power supply and draws about 77mA1. That draw is well beyond what a 9V battery delivers, so plan on a pedalboard power supply.
The bypass is buffered, based on Cusack's More Louder pedal, rather than true bypass1. For connections, the pedal takes a mono input and offers dedicated Left and Right outputs for true stereo operation13.
Cusack Music also sells the Rebound as factory B stock at $221.00, against the $260.00 regular price. B stock pedals may have minor scratches, paint chips, overspray, misprints, or other small finishing blemishes but no major defects; Cusack says they are in perfect working condition and come with the original box, box goodies, and warranty2.

Questions
Is the Cusack Rebound stereo?
Yes. The Rebound has a mono input and dedicated Left and Right outputs, so it runs in true stereo. Cusack Music says the Dual program in particular sounds best in stereo, where it reacts similarly to the DIGI-PONG program.
Is the Cusack Music Rebound true bypass?
No. The Rebound uses a buffered bypass that Cusack Music says is based on its More Louder pedal. There is no true bypass switching on this pedal.
What does Float do on the Cusack Rebound?
Float is a hold feature. Pressing the middle switch a few milliseconds longer than a tap engages it, freezing the delay feedback at a level that lets you hold a passage. A quick tap of the same switch sets the delay time.
Does the Cusack Rebound have an expression input?
Yes. The Rebound has an expression pedal input alongside tap tempo, dedicated Left and Right outputs, Brake controls, the Float hold feature, and its eight delay programs.
How much power does the Cusack Rebound draw?
The Rebound draws about 77mA and runs on a standard 9V DC center negative power supply. That current draw is high enough that it is not a candidate for a typical 9V battery or a low-current daisy chain output.
