The IK Multimedia TONEX Board is a digital floor unit built around the company's TONEX amp and effects modeling platform1. It uses ultra-low noise 24-bit/192 kHz audio converters1, and IK Multimedia lists it in Europe at €999,99 excluding VAT (€1.199,99 including VAT)1.
Inputs, outputs and MIDI
The TONEX Board takes a stereo input that IK Multimedia says accommodates guitar, bass, keyboards, synths, grooveboxes and similar sources, so it is not a guitar-only box1. On the output side it carries dual independent stereo outputs, which lets you route cabinet and non-cabinet signals separately1. For control, there is full MIDI implementation via 5-pin DIN MIDI IN/OUT, plus 2 external control inputs that each accept an expression pedal or EXT Control connection1.
| Connection | Detail |
|---|---|
| Input | Stereo input for guitar, bass, keyboards, synths, grooveboxes and similar sources1 |

| Balanced outputs | 2x XLR for 1/L and 2/R1 |
| TRS outputs | 2x TRS for 3/L and 4/R1 |

| External control | 2 inputs, each accepting an expression pedal or EXT Control1 |

The unit stores up to 1,440 presets across 12 setlists, arranged as 60 banks with 3 presets per bank1. Each preset can run up to 4 simultaneous Tone Models, 1 Amp and 1 Stomp per path, and each chain can hold up to 12 effect slots1.
Three workflow modes cover different playing styles1:
- Preset Mode
- Scene Mode
- Stomp Mode
