The JAM Pedals "Evil Flow" Pink Flow is a multi-pedal: a single enclosure that carries a chain of the company's individual pedal circuits, from compression through drive to modulation and delay. On That Pedal Show, JAM's collaborators described the Pink Flow as "our first standard multi-pedal", with plans for another one hoped to be "coming soon"1. The Evil Flow version is one of JAM's limited artwork editions, and the maker's position on the artwork versions is simple: "Same sound, different artwork"2.
The signal chain
The pedal runs eight of JAM's circuits in a fixed order, with a send/return loop in the middle so outside pedals can be inserted between the drive section and the time-based section2.
| Position | Circuit | What it is |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Seagull | First stage of the chain2 |
| 2 | Dyna-ssoR | Provides NOS CA3080 compression and sustain2 |
| 3 | Tubedreamer | Third stage of the chain2 |
| 4 | Red Muck | Last drive-side stage before the loop2 |
| 5 | Send/return loop | Insert point for external pedals2 |
| 6 | WaterFall | First stage after the loop2 |
| 7 | Ripple | Second stage after the loop2 |
| 8 | Delay Llama | Final stage; internal trimmers set maximum repeats and trails decay2 |
The loop is the practical heart of the layout: everything from Seagull through Red Muck sits before the send, and WaterFall, Ripple and the Delay Llama sit after the return, so a player can slot in, say, a favorite overdrive or fuzz without giving up the built-in chain2.
Buffer and bypass
Bypass is selectable between true bypass and buffered bypass2. The buffer is positioned before the send, and it is changed by powering up while holding the Seagull footswitch: two blinks indicate the buffer is off, three indicate it is on2. That matters for players who run long cable runs or pedalboard risers, since a buffer before the send keeps the signal through the loop side consistent.
Power and size
The pedal runs on 9V DC, center-negative2. JAM lists the weight at 1.75 kg / 3.9 lb and the dimensions at 40 x 17 x 6.7 cm / 15.7 x 6.7 x 2.6 in, so it is a long, low enclosure rather than a compact box2. For UK buyers, JAM states the pedal is "Shipped DDP, 20% UK VAT and all duties included. No extra charges on delivery."2
The artwork versions
The Evil Flow Pink Flow is one of three Pink Flow variants JAM lists: the standard Pink Flow, the "Relic" Pink Flow and the "SteamPink" Pink Flow. The limited artwork versions are in stock alongside the standard pedal, and the maker's line on all of them is "Same sound, different artwork"2.
Every limited artwork pedal is a one-of-a-kind hand-painted piece, and JAM states that the pedal you receive will differ in detail from the photos shown2.
