The three modes
The pedal's heart is the Nocturne algorithm. Guitar Pedal X's launch report describes it as a unique Nocturne Reverb voicing derived from Andy's Halo Echo and reimagined as an ethereal, immersive reverb1. On That Pedal Show, Dan and Mick described the Nocturne mode as like a big hall with some modulation and some pre-delay, and demonstrated switching between the three algorithms on the pedal's mode control2.
Alongside it sit two conventional reverb types, Spring and Plate, selected from the same mode switch1. The pedal carries four Mode LEDs, which Guitar Pedal X connected with its mode and preset display1.
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Mode switch | Selects between the Nocturne, Plate and Spring algorithms2 |
| Tone | Functions as a high-pass filter (HPF) tone control1 |
| On/Off footswitch | Bypasses or engages the effect1 |
| Preset footswitch | Recalls presets1 |
| Mode LEDs (x4) | Indicate mode and preset status1 |
From the Halo Echo to a reverb
The Nocturne voicing traces back to the Keeley Halo Andy Timmons Dual Echo, an earlier Keeley and Timmons collaboration. GuitarPlayer's Jude Gold reviewed that pedal and described its signature sound: "the ethereal, dovetailing echoes gradually diffuse into a pleasant, reverb-like wash, a 'halo,' as Timmons describes it"3. On That Pedal Show, Dan and Mick explained the derivation in circuit terms: Keeley took Andy's delay sound, which came from two Memory Man delays run together, filtered out the attack, and mixed it into a reverb2.
"It's the most inspiring reverb I've ever heard and I just want to play all day basking in its beauty"

What reviewers said
On That Pedal Show, Dan and Mick demoed the pedal through Orange and Laney amps and found it handled gain well. They credited the Nocturne algorithm's pre-delay: "because it's got that bit of pre-delay there, it's not like straight into crazy reverb," meaning distorted signals do not smear the way they can through a reverb with no pre-delay2. Guitar Pedal X's reporter, comparing it against his own preference, wrote "I don't think it's quite good enough to unseat my Cornerstone Nucleo," a verdict on his own board rather than a knock on the pedal itself1.
On That Pedal Show, Dan and Mick walked through all three algorithms, described the Nocturne mode as a big hall sound with modulation and pre-delay, and demonstrated how it sits with driven tones2.

Questions
Is the Keeley Andy Timmons Nocturne Reverb stereo?
Yes. MusicRadar's coverage of the launch describes the Nocturne as an Andy Timmons signature stereo reverb pedal, co-designed with Robert Keeley. Beyond that, the pedal's Core enclosure carries RCA Bakelite knobs and a larger footprint than Keeley's compact format, according to Guitar Pedal X's launch report.
What is the Halo sound the Nocturne is based on?
The Halo is the sound of Andy Timmons' dual echo pedal, the Keeley Halo Andy Timmons Dual Echo. GuitarPlayer's Jude Gold described its preset 1A as ethereal, dovetailing echoes that gradually diffuse into a pleasant, reverb-like wash, a halo as Timmons describes it. The Nocturne mode takes that voicing and reimagines it as a reverb.
Does the Nocturne Reverb have MIDI?
Yes. On That Pedal Show, Dan and Mick described it as the first fully MIDI controlled pedal from Keeley, and MusicRadar's launch coverage also lists MIDI among its features. That makes it usable alongside MIDI-capable switching gear in a larger rig.
How many presets does the Nocturne Reverb hold?
MusicRadar's launch report gives 72 presets. Earlier coverage was less certain: Guitar Pedal X's report pointed to the pedal's four Mode LEDs and suggested possibly 4 or 8 onboard presets, or a single preset. The pedal also carries a dedicated Preset footswitch alongside the On/Off switch.
How much is the Keeley Nocturne Reverb?
Guitar Pedal X's launch report of December 13, 2025 listed it at $399 USD, with equivalent pricing of €399 and £319. MusicRadar's report of December 18, 2025 gave £319 and $269. The two US figures differ, so it is worth checking current dealer pricing.
Does the Nocturne Reverb work well with overdrive and distortion?
On That Pedal Show, Dan and Mick found it sits well with gain. They credited the Nocturne algorithm's pre-delay: because it has that bit of pre-delay, it is not like going straight into crazy reverb, so distorted notes do not turn to mush the way they can with a reverb that starts instantly.
