The Keeley 20 For 20 Tri-Verb is a multi-mode reverb pedal from Keeley Electronics, released in September 2020 as a very small limited edition. It is a 20 For 20 edition of the Keeley X-Series Tri-Verb, and only 20 units were made. Guitar.com reported that with such a small run, the pedal was hard to get a hold of, and it had already sold out by the time the site covered the release on 25 September 2020.1
What it does
The Tri-Verb gives you three reverb modes: plate for classic-sounding reverberated tones, spring for jangly and surfy sounds, and chamber. Guitar.com described the pedal's controls as decay, tone, pre-delay and blend knobs, with just a simple footswitch to engage the effect.1
The 20 for 20 series
The 20 For 20 Tri-Verb was part of Keeley Electronics' 20 for 20 series, in which only 20 pedals are made in each run. Guitar.com noted that the company had previously done runs of Fuzz Benders and Synth-1s in this style. The pedal was teased on 23 September 2020 with its name and controls censored; all that could be confirmed from the teaser image was the existence of input, output and power jacks, and the launch was set for 12 PM CST the next day. Two days later the pedal had been revealed as the 20 For 20 Tri-Verb and had sold out.2
Keeley and reverb ideas
Keeley has a long roster of reverb pedals, and MusicRadar's reviewer Trevor Curwen noted that "Keeley is not exactly strangers to the idea, having had the Hooke and Vibe-O-Verb in its roster" when writing about the Keeley Eddie Heinzelman Signature Vibe o Verb Workstation.3 Players interested in the company's current reverb designs can look at the Keeley Hooke Spring Reverb, the Keeley Vibe O Verb or the site's wider guide to Reverb Pedals.
