The Nobels REV-mini is a compact digital reverb pedal from Nobels, the German maker best known for the ODR-1 overdrive. It offers three reverb voicings, Spring, Plate and Hall, each selected by a mode switch and marked by its own LED color, and it adds two "Xtra" sounds, Freeze and Shimmer, that you call up by simply holding down the footswitch1.
It is the fifth pedal in Nobels' mini series, joining the ODR-mini, DEL-mini, CHO-mini and MOD-mini, and like its siblings it is built around stereo-capable TRS connections in a small metal enclosure2. Inside is a 32-bit DSP processor running at a 48 kHz sampling rate1.
The three reverb modes
Each mode has its own LED color so you can see which voicing is engaged on a dark stage43.
| Mode | LED | What Nobels says it does |
|---|---|---|
| Spring | Green | Authentic, dynamic spring reverb in the style of classic vintage amplifiers456 |
| Plate | Red | Dense, silky plate reverb for timeless soundscapes and vocals and guitar leads475 |
| Hall | Blue | High-resolution, wide room reverb for majestic and deep ambient sounds35 |
Nobels describes the pedal's range as covering everything from subtle room tone, to classic surf-style spring reverb, to ethereal floating ambient textures8.
Controls and the Xtra function
The REV-mini keeps the control set simple: three knobs labeled Size, Blend and Tone3. Size sets the perceived room size, Blend sets the mix of dry and reverberated signal, and Tone shapes the character of the reverb. All three knobs use a fluorescent "glow-in-the-dark" pointer design that Nobels says aids readability on a dark stage or pedalboard4.
The single On/Off footswitch does double duty. Press it normally and it switches the effect in and out. Hold it down and you activate the Xtra function, which Nobels offers in two flavors1:
- Freeze: infinite sustain of the reverb tail, letting you sustain ambient pads under your playing459
- Shimmer: ethereal, octave-shifted overtones layered onto the reverb6
Because the Xtra function lives on the footswitch itself, holding it down activates the additional sounds, Freeze or Shimmer39.
Power and connections
The REV-mini runs on a stabilized 9V DC power adapter with a 2.1 mm barrel connector, center negative, and Nobels specifies a current consumption of less than 100 mA1. The adapter is not included, so you need to supply your own, and there is no battery option4.
No battery compartment and no included adapter: plan on a 9V DC center-negative output from a pedalboard power supply. At under 100 mA it is easy to accommodate on most isolated supplies1.
On the audio side, the inputs and outputs are selectable mono or stereo via TRS jack sockets, so the same pedal works in a standard mono chain or a stereo rig1. The bypass is also selectable: a toggle lets you choose between true bypass and buffered bypass. Nobels says the buffered setting suits long cable runs and lets the reverb tail decay naturally when you switch the pedal off, rather than cutting it abruptly9.
Where it came from and what it costs
Nobels announced the REV-mini in August 2026 as the fifth member of its mini pedal series, following the ODR-mini, DEL-mini, CHO-mini and MOD-mini2. First delivery was expected around early November1.
On price, the press sources disagree slightly. Guitar Pedal X reported the stereo mini pedals at $99 USD, with European pricing of €99 and £852, while Gearnews, citing a Thomann listing dated 14 August 2026, gave $93.00 USD, £85.00 and 99.00€10. Both point to a street price in the mid-$90s to $99 range.
Guitar Pedal X noted at the time of its announcement that no demo of the REV-mini was available yet2, so early impressions of the pedal rest on Nobels' own descriptions of its three modes and Xtra functions rather than independent reviews.

Questions
Does the Nobels REV-mini run on a battery?
No. The REV-mini is powered through a 9V DC power adapter with a 2.1 mm barrel connector, center negative, and Nobels states that the adapter is not included. There is no battery option, so you will need a suitable power supply or a pedalboard power brick with a 9V output.
Is the REV-mini true bypass?
It is switchable. A toggle on the pedal lets you choose between true bypass and buffered bypass. The buffered setting is intended for long cable runs and lets the reverb tail ring out naturally when you switch the effect off, instead of cutting it dead.
Is the Nobels REV-mini stereo?
Yes. The inputs and outputs are selectable mono or stereo using TRS jack sockets, so a single pedal can sit in a stereo rig or a standard mono chain. Nobels lists it among its stereo mini pedals, alongside the ODR-mini, DEL-mini, CHO-mini and MOD-mini.
How do you get shimmer or freeze on the REV-mini?
Hold down the On/Off footswitch. Nobels calls this the Xtra function, and it gives you either Freeze, which holds the reverb tail indefinitely for ambient pads, or Shimmer, which adds ethereal octave-shifted overtones. No extra switch or expression pedal is needed.
How much current does the Nobels REV-mini draw?
Nobels specifies a current consumption of less than 100 mA at 9V DC. That is modest by digital reverb standards, so it will run comfortably from a typical isolated pedalboard power supply output.
