The Source Audio MIDI Adapter is a small accessory that adds full MIDI functionality to all single-footswitch One Series pedals, including the C4 Synth, Aftershock Bass Distortion, Atlas Compressor, and Spectrum Intelligent Filter1. It connects to a standard MIDI controller and lets the pedal switch presets, change parameters, and sync to MIDI clock.
What it does
The adapter opens three kinds of MIDI control to a One Series pedal1:
- Preset switching: MIDI PC messages switch presets1
- Parameter control: MIDI CC messages change parameter settings or move parameters with an expression pedal1
- Clock sync: MIDI clock messages set LFO modulation and sequencer rates1
How many presets MIDI PC messages reach depends on the pedal. On more recently released pedals like the C4 Synth, Atlas Compressor, Ultrawave and Ultrawave Bass Multiband Processor, and Spectrum Intelligent Filters, as many as 128 presets are accessible when paired with the MIDI Adapter1. On earlier One Series releases like the Vertigo Tremolo, Aftershock Bass Distortion, and Gemini Chorus, the adapter gives access to the effects stored in each pedal's six toggle switch positions1.
Hooking it up
The adapter is compatible with any standard MIDI controller with a 5-pin MIDI DIN output1. The included TRRS cable connects the adapter to the pedal's Control Input1.
No power supply is needed: the adapter self-powers from the pedal's Control Input jack1.
Chaining pedals
The MIDI THRU jack passes messages to another MIDI Adapter and Source Audio pedal, so a single MIDI controller can reach several pedals down the line1. For a dedicated controller in the same family, Source Audio also makes the Soleman MIDI Foot Controller.

Questions
Which Source Audio pedals work with the MIDI Adapter?
The MIDI Adapter works with all single-footswitch One Series pedals. That includes the C4 Synth, Aftershock Bass Distortion, Atlas Compressor, and Spectrum Intelligent Filter, as well as earlier releases like the Vertigo Tremolo, Aftershock Bass Distortion, and Gemini Chorus.
Does the Source Audio MIDI Adapter need a power supply?
No. The adapter is bus-powered and self-powers from the pedal's Control Input jack, so it needs no power supply of its own.
Does the adapter include a cable?
Yes. The MIDI Adapter includes one TRRS cable that connects the adapter to the pedal's Control Input.
How many presets can I recall with MIDI PC messages?
On more recently released pedals like the C4 Synth, Atlas Compressor, Ultrawave and Ultrawave Bass Multiband Processor, and Spectrum Intelligent Filters, as many as 128 presets are accessible with MIDI PC messages when paired with the MIDI Adapter. On earlier One Series releases, the adapter reaches the effects stored in each pedal's six toggle switch positions.
Can I chain several pedals with the MIDI Thru jack?
Yes. Use the MIDI THRU jack to pass messages to another MIDI Adapter and Source Audio pedal, so one MIDI controller can reach several pedals in a chain.
Can the MIDI Adapter sync a pedal to MIDI clock?
Yes. MIDI clock messages set LFO modulation and sequencer rates on the connected pedal.
