The Suhr Thornicus Dual Channel Fuzz / Octave Fuzz is an Ian Thornley signature pedal that Suhr released for NAMM in January 2026. It puts two fuzz voices in one box: an independent Fuzz channel and an independent Octave Fuzz channel, each with its own full set of controls and its own footswitch, so you can bring in either voice or both together.1
Controls and switching
Each channel carries the same four controls, so the two voices are matched knob for knob1:
| Control | What it does | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Sustain | Fuzz amount | Both channels |
| Mids | Midrange shaping | Both channels |
| Level | Channel output | Both channels |
| Tone | Treble shaping | Both channels |
Each channel also has its own separate footswitch.1
Enclosure and size
The Thornicus is, according to Guitar Pedal X's Stefan Karlsson, only the second circuit to use the same enclosure format as Suhr's Discovery Analog Delay, with a front portion housing the footswitches.1
On the size of that format, Karlsson wrote:
"The Thornicus Fuzz seems a little oversized for my preferences, and part of me feels that this could have been done in a more compact and smarter edition."
He still counted it as worthy of consideration at its size.1
The Thornicus shares its enclosure format with the Discovery Analog Delay, so it will take up more board space than a compact single-channel fuzz. Plan your layout accordingly.
Where it sits in Suhr's fuzz line
The Thornicus Dual Channel is Suhr's two-channel fuzz and octave fuzz, with independent footswitches per channel so each channel can be switched on its own. Both models in the Thornicus line appear to be fairly widely available at the usual dealers.1

Questions
Who is the Suhr Thornicus designed for?
The Thornicus is an Ian Thornley signature pedal, released by Suhr for NAMM 2026. Ian Thornley is the player it carries the name of, and Suhr released it as part of a pair of new pedals alongside the Mini Brighton Treble Booster. It is aimed at players who want a fuzz and an octave fuzz in one enclosure, each switchable on its own.
Can you use both channels of the Suhr Thornicus at the same time?
The Thornicus has independent Fuzz and Octave Fuzz channels, each with its own Sustain, Mids, Level, and Tone controls and its own separate footswitch. Because the channels are independent and separately footswitchable, you can run either channel on its own or both together.
What controls does the Suhr Thornicus have?
Each of the two channels, the Fuzz and the Octave Fuzz, carries the same four controls: Sustain, Mids, Level, and Tone. Sustain sets the amount of fuzz, Mids shapes the midrange, Level sets the channel's output, and Tone adjusts the treble. Each channel also has its own footswitch.
How much does the Suhr Thornicus cost?
The Thornicus is priced at $329 USD, with a UK price of £329 and equivalent pricing elsewhere, as reported at its NAMM 2026 release in January 2026.
How big is the Suhr Thornicus compared with other fuzz pedals?
The Thornicus uses the same enclosure format as Suhr's Discovery Analog Delay, with a front portion housing the footswitches. Guitar Pedal X's Stefan Karlsson found it a little oversized for his preferences and felt it could have been done in a more compact edition, while still calling it worthy of consideration.
