The Vaderin Super Ram Fuzz is a fuzz pedal from the builder Vaderin, announced in September 2023. It takes the Ram's Head version of the Big Muff circuit, the same family of fuzz as the Electro-Harmonix Ram's Head Big Muff Pi and the Stomp Under Foot Violet Menace Ram's Head, and modifies it heavily, borrowing characteristics from the Super Fuzz circuit1.
What it does
The Super Ram sets out to be a Muff-style fuzz that stays present in a dense band mix, with the octave-up circuit adding texture on top. Paolo De Gregorio of Delicious Audio described the design idea this way when the pedal was announced1:
"The Super Ram takes the best parts of the Ram's Head Muff and the Super Fuzz and mashes them up into one incredible fuzz"1

Two features set it apart from a straight Ram's Head style fuzz:
- An octave-up blend, which mixes an upper octave signal in with the fuzz, in the manner of octave-up fuzz designs1
- An adjustable gate, which lets the player control how the pedal behaves between notes1
The octave-up element is a recurring idea in Vaderin's range: the builder's Super Ram Fuzz is a heavily modified take on the Ram's Head Fuzz, borrowing some of the Super Fuzz characteristics while adding an octave-up blend and an adjustable gate1.
Where it came from
Delicious Audio reported the Super Ram's release on September 11, 2023, describing it as "a heavily mutated ram's head with an octave up blend and adjustable gate"1. The Ram's Head circuit it starts from is a vintage Big Muff variant that other builders have revisited as well, including Vick Audio with the Violet Ram's Head Fuzz and Buffalo FX with the M-1 Ram's Head Fuzz, which uses a Level knob to set output volume3.
The Super Ram is a small-builder pedal. Specifications such as power requirements, bypass type and list price were not published in the coverage of its announcement, so players should expect to find them on Vaderin's own product page.
