Anasounds has released the Blues Believer, a Marshall Bluesbreaker-based overdrive sold as a DIY kit for around $135 and as a full kit for around $150, Delicious Audio reported on January 7, 20251. Guitar Pedal X had reported the launch on November 29, 2024, describing it as the latest Anasounds FX Teacher project, available fully assembled or as a kit2.
The pedal keeps the original circuit's three controls, Output, Gain and Tone, and adds two toggle switches2. The Voice toggle filters out some of the high frequencies for a warmer overall sound, while the Disto switch adds a third saturation stage to the classic two-stage circuit, producing what Delicious Audio describes as full-fledged distortion results1. Guitar Pedal X describes the Voice switch as shaving off some of the circuit's inherent brightness, and the Disto switch as engaging a third gain stage that carries the pedal into distortion territory2.
Two trim pots inside the case allow the circuit's gain to be increased for extra saturation1. Guitar Pedal X notes that, as with all Anasounds pedals, additional trim pots inside the device allow further refinement or extension of the pedal's output2.
"This is an evolution of the revered pedal that recreates the magical bright yet transparent tone of the original"
Pricing differs between the two reports. Delicious Audio gives the DIY kit at around $135 and the full kit at around $1501. Guitar Pedal X also reported that orders were open through the Anasounds webstore, with the first batch due before Christmas and the second early in the new year2.
