Boss has released a batch of Model Passes for the PX-1 Plugout FX, adding the DM-2 Delay, DC-2 Dimension C and OD-2 TURBO OverDrive to the compact pedal's effects library¹². The maker describes the three as "the vintage analog DM-2 Delay, tone-enhancing DC-2 Dimension C, and harmonically rich OD-2 TURBO OverDrive"¹².

A Model Pass is "a license for adding a new effect to the PX-1 Plugout FX compact pedal," according to Boss, which says three batches of Model Passes have been released so far¹². Effects load into the pedal from the BOSS Effect Loader app over Bluetooth or USB-C, and demo versions can be tried with a small audio gap every 30 seconds¹². Registration with a free Roland Account is required¹.

The PX-1 ships with eight "1" designation effects in its permanent library: the OD-1 Over Drive, PH-1 Phaser and SP-1 Spectrum from 1977, plus the DS-1 Distortion, CS-1 Compression Sustainer, TW-1 T Wah, SG-1 Slow Gear and SD-1 SUPER OverDrive¹². Boss says all models are "meticulously crafted from the circuit level up in order to capture the subtle nuances and signature tones that made the originals so coveted"².

Boss did not give a price or a release date for the new Model Passes in either article¹².
