Dr. No Effects and Troy Van Leeuwen announce Blameshifter releases

Dr. No Effects and Troy Van Leeuwen announced on November 3, 2026 a limited run of the TvL Blameshifter, a second set of band units, the TvL Decade Collector's Edition and Blameshifter Drumsticks. Pre-sale begins that week, exclusively at the Dr. No website, with shipping from November 151.
The Blameshifter was first built for the band, and Troy, Dean, Mikey and Josh each received their own unit. Van Leeuwen designed the internal switching, and Dr. No handled the physical, cosmetic and technical work1. The maker describes the pedal as "a buffered, 3-way rotary wizard's staff, a true switching architect, an A/B / ABY / dual effects-loop switcher with a transparent low-noise buffer, high-Z input and three selectable outputs"2. The idea began as a QOTSA rehearsal room joke about a pedal that could shift the blame for a mistake to another player's amp2.
A second set identical to the band's units, with the band members' names on the pedals, has been made; only one will be offered on the Dr. No website1. The TvL Decade Collector's Edition marks 10 years of collaboration and contains three handmade pedals: a TvL Raven, a TvL Octavia and a TvL Blameshifter First Edition2. It is an edition of 10, with 8 available to collectors; Van Leeuwen owns one and one goes to Dr. No's archive12. Each box is numbered, signed and sealed with a certificate of authenticity2.
