The Dr. Scientist Sunny Day Delay is now in a second version, the Canadian builder's delay pedal based on the PT2399 chip, with a new tone control, mix knob and expression input in a smaller form factor than previous versions1. Delicious Audio described it on August 10, 2023 as a compact update of a design whose original version, dating back to 2005, was almost twice as big2.

According to Delicious Audio, the new version replaces the delay Level knob with a dry/wet Mix knob and adds Tone and Volume knobs not included in the original, plus a second footswitch that can trigger the modulation section or, used as a momentary switch, ramp the repeats to maximum2. The expression input allows remote control of the Mix knob2. Dr. Scientist lists the controls as Delay, Repeats, Tone, Mix, Mod Depth, Mod Rate and Volume, with a Mod/Osc footswitch and a Bypass footswitch1. The maker gives the delay time as "nearly instant to just over a second" and the repeats as "1 to oscillating"1.

Dr. Scientist lists an MSRP of $199 USD1. The maker's product page gives a price of CA$ 258.703. The maker describes the pedal as a re-issue of its original Sunny Day Delay and says it can be used with guitar, bass, synths and other instruments3.

"This newest version now features a brand new tone control, mix knob and expression input all in a smaller form factor than previous versions."
