Diamond Pedals relaunched on May 16, 2023 with five pedals based on updated versions of its original circuit designs, according to Guitar.com1. The brand had closed in 2020 "due to the pressures of the COVID-19 pandemic" and was purchased by SolidGoldFX, a deal announced in December 20221.
The relaunch covers the Memory Lane, Comp/EQ, Bass Comp/EQ, Drive and Tremolo1. Guitar.com describes the Memory Lane as a reimagined digital Bucket Brigade Delay with a smaller footprint, over double the delay time, an extended frequency response and higher signal-to-noise ratio1. The Comp/EQ adds an EQ section and an Attack switch that moves from the "ultra-snappy" Diamond comp style to softer transparent compression1. The Bass Comp/EQ adds a tilt switch for selecting the fulcrum frequency of the Tilt EQ for sculpting mids1. The Drive revives the J-Drive and draws on elements of the J-Drive, Blaze and Fireburst pedals, built around a Burr-Brown op-amp with dual-band, post-gain active EQ1. The Tremolo offers tap tempo with subdivisions, an 11-position Rhythm control, Insta-Chop and a momentary or latching speed Doubler1.
Guitar.com lists ERP prices in pounds for all five models, and no US dollar pricing appears in its report1.
"After two long years of endless research, development and tinkering with Diamond's original and long admired pedal circuits, Greg [Djerrahian] and his team have launched five new devices, all building on the original designs of Diamond's most iconic flagship pedals."
The same release states that all design and manufacturing now takes place at the company's facility in Montreal, Canada1.
