Electro-Harmonix announces Andy Summers Walking on the Moon flanger

Electro-Harmonix has unveiled a signature pedal for the Police guitarist Andy Summers, the Walking on the Moon Flanger1. Guitar World reported the pedal on 14 July 20231; Delicious Audio published its coverage on 8 July 20242.
The unit is an analog flanger with three controls: Rate, Range and Color32. Rate sets the modulation speed, which Delicious Audio describes as ranging from slow, smooth filter sweeps to jittering vibrato2. Range sets the width of the sweep and, per Delicious Audio, controls how narrow or wide the effect sweeps into the bass frequency range32. Color controls the intensity of the flanger effect, from subtle chorus-like sounds to powerful flanger wooshes32.
A mini-toggle engages Filter Matrix mode, which disengages the LFO from the flanger circuit and freezes the flanger for a fixed filter effect, which Delicious Audio says can add chime or metallic overtones without the movement of a traditional modulation pedal21. A Dry output splits the dry signal from the effected signal; Guitar World describes the output as dual but not stereo21. The pedal is true bypass and runs on 9V DC, center negative, at 40mA, according to RockBoard's PedalPedia listing32. Delicious Audio reports a 9V power supply is included and an optional 9V battery is not2.
Each pedal ships with Artist Edition graphics featuring Summers' signature and a Walking on the Moon poster with art by Laura Josephson21. Neither source gives a US price.
"This beautiful shimmering which sort of made the sound more bigger and more glamourous…became a sort of characteristic of my guitar sound…A big part of my guitar sound at that time in The Police was the flange sound which we have here today in this great new pedal."
