Electronic Audio Experiments released the Glaive Octave Fuzz in fall 2025, the maker's changelog lists it as the original release1. Guitar Pedal X reported the pedal available from the Electronic Audio Experiments webstore for $249 on October 17, 20252. The maker's product page carried the same $249.00 price and a "Temporarily Unavailable" notice1.
The Glaive is an opamp fuzz that the maker describes as capable of over +80dB of gain1. The Fuzz control sets the signal flow into the primary gain stage, and the maker's control list puts its maximum at "an irresponsible +80dB"1. Weight changes the cutoff of a high pass filter at the input, which the maker says alters attack and thickness, from a tight attack to crushing bass frequencies1. Texture blends in a full-wave rectified analog signal that produces an octave up fed into the fuzz input1. Two three-position toggles handle tone and gating: LPF sets no high cut in the center, moderate high cut down and strong high cut up, while Squelch sets gating off in the center, mild down and strong up1. Level sets output volume1.
Guitar Pedal X described the Glaive as a distinct take on Octavia, Foxx Tone Machine, Super-Fuzz and Life Pedal circuits, with expanded shaping over many octave fuzz pedals2.
"The Electronic Audio Experiments Glaive is the most dangerous gain device in our lineup."
The maker lists a 24V internal power supply and silent electronic switching with a high-headroom op amp buffer, with momentary or latching footswitch behavior1. Published specifications:
| Specification | Value |
|---|---|
| Bypass switching | Silent electronic switching with a high-headroom op amp buffer1 |
| Input impedance @ 1kHz | 1MΩ1 |
| Output impedance @ 1kHz | <1KΩ1 |
| Power | 9VDC, 2.1mm center negative barrel1 |
| Current draw | 70mA1 |
The maker recommends a regulated, isolated power supply rated for 100mA minimum, states the DC input is protected against reverse polarity and over-voltage up to 20V, and notes that its pedals do not accept batteries1. The Glaive is offered in Charcoal and Acid Etch finishes1.
