Empty Head Effects, run by Nic out of Mainz, Germany, is nearing release of the Seafarer, a modulated reverb pedal, Delicious Audio reported on August 5, 2026. The report said the pedal had been breadboarded in April and teased at pedal shows, and that full technical specs, including decay time, filter range and exact control set, were not publicly listed at that point1.
According to Delicious Audio, the circuit offers a mono long-tailed reverb with random pitch modulation on the repeats in place of standard chorus or vibrato, intended to mimic the lapping of water. It also has a random tremolo effect the report describes as "water-logged ears," a low-pass filter controllable by an internal LFO, an external expression pedal or a front-panel pot, soft-clipping diode distortion, separate wet and dry volume knobs, and an infinite feedback footswitch1.
Guitar Pedal X, writing on August 6, 2026, listed the controls as Swim (Dry), Sink (Wet), Oxygen (Distortion), Ocean Size (Reverb Length), Gravity / Buoyancy (LPF Depth), Storm / Calm (LFO Bypass), Wellen (LFO Speed), Disorientation (Random LFO Speed), Water Logged (Tremolo Depth) and Medusen (Warble), plus Liferaft (Engage/Bypass) and The Light At The End (Infinite Feedback) footswitches. It gave dimensions of 190mm wide by 120mm high by 53mm thick and a weight of 770g2.
Guitar Pedal X put the price at $295, said the Ghost Edition was sold out, and reported that second-batch pre-orders were almost sold out2. Delicious Audio's report gave no price or release date1.
"Instead of a standard chorus or vibrato on the repeats, it uses random pitch modulation meant to mimic the lapping of water."
