Delicious Audio published a product page on the Jackson Audio Golden Boy Mini on August 23, 20231. The page describes the pedal as a streamlined version of the Jackson Audio Golden Boy Programmable Overdrive, designed in collaboration with guitarist Joey Landreth1.

According to Delicious Audio, the Mini is not a smaller version of the original, since the two units are the same size, but a stripped-down one1. The separate Boost footswitch and the preset system of the original were removed, while the 3-band Baxandall-style EQ and two clipping options, LED and Asymmetrical, selected by a toggle switch, were kept1. Delicious Audio states that Landreth was also involved in this version1. The original Golden Boy is based on the Bluesbreaker/King of Tone circuit, which Jackson Audio describes as giving an open, uncompressed and transparent tone2.

Guitar.com reported on July 7, 2023 that the Mini costs $179, compared with $299 for the original, and was available on Jackson Audio's website3. It comes in three anodized colorways: standard gold, black limited to 1000 units, and rose gold limited to 500 units3. Delicious Audio lists top-mounted jacks, an input impedance of 1M, an output impedance of 100k, a 9V DC input with center-negative polarity, a current draw of 35mA and dimensions of 2.5 by 4.25 inches1.

"With its exceptional harmonic detail and abundant headroom, this compact overdrive pedal takes the concept of transparent overdrive to new heights, using a simple and powerful interface."

Guitar.com describes the Mini as based on the Bluesbreaker/King of Tone circuit, giving it an open and transparent sound, and reports the maker's claim that it covers "subtle grit to soaring, harmonically rich tones"3. Delicious Audio's page carries the same builder's notes, describing the pedal's transparent nature as keeping the core tone intact while adding warmth, richness and depth1.
