Jad Freer Audio announced the CAPO Tim Lefebvre Edition, a special edition of its CAPO preamp and DI, on December 1, 2023. The edition adds a routing option requested by Tim Lefebvre, who the maker says was the first CAPO user and owns serial #001¹.

The maker describes the CAPO as a preamp and DI with three preamps wired in parallel, two XLR balanced outputs and routing options in a pedalboard-friendly format¹. The PREAMP section consists of a clean preamp and two saturators labeled J and F, with an active 3-band EQ and DEEP and BITE buttons¹. The LOOP is a line selector that lets the signal in the loop alternate with the preamp signal in Tim mode, or sit in series before the preamp in Original mode¹. There are two DI outputs, LOOP OUT and PREAMP OUT, with phase inversion on LOOP OUT to realign the phase of balanced signals, plus a low-pass filter (LPF) to remove frequencies generated at high gain levels and PRE and POST fx loops¹.

The TIM switch changes the routing from original, where the loop pre goes into the preamp, to Tim mode, where the loop pre alternates with the preamp¹. In Tim mode, pedals patched in the LOOP PRE are activated by the LOOP footswitch and appear at the LOOP OUT DI, while the original A-side preamp, now labeled PREAMP, and pedals in the POST loop appear at the PREAMP OUT DI¹. The maker says the B-side preamp of the original CAPO is left out of this edition¹.

The page lists the price as 549,00 € and a delivery time of 20 weeks from order¹. The maker says the Tim Lefebvre edition will be available periodically in small batches, while the original model remains available to pre-order¹.
