The Mr. Black Deuce Coupe MKII is a revival of the compact overdrive the company first released in late 2011, according to the maker's product page1. Delicious Audio reported the MKII on October 17, 20252. MusicRadar had already reported the pedal's return on December 19, 2023, describing it as "back into action 12 years later"3.

The MKII keeps the original's overdrive circuit and adds two soft-touch footswitches, one for the drive channel and one for the Ultra Boost, which now has an external control12. The maker lists three controls alongside the overdrive circuit and says the Ultra Boost can now be adjusted on the fly1. MusicRadar reported that the Ultra Boost is a pure clean boost available once the Drive footswitch is engaged3. The pedal uses Click-Less relay true-bypass switching13.

Specifications from the maker1:

SpecValue
Drive channel gain+1dB to +40.8dB
Ultra channel gain+1.8dB to +56.5dB
Input impedance~480KΩ
Output impedance<1KΩ
Frequency response~15.92Hz to ~6.66KHz
Power9VDC 2.1mm negative center-pin
Current draw~22mA

The maker describes the circuit as a 100% pure-analog, high-headroom signal path with an internal split-rail power supply operating at +/- 9V1. MusicRadar attributed the dynamic response to that "specially designed" internal split-rail supply3.

"Now boasting two soft-touch foot-switches, external Ultra Boost control, and modernized Click-Less™ true-bypass switching, the Mr. Black Deuce Coupe returns to deliver the same incredibly dynamic, naturally responsive overdrive and boost"

The maker's page lists a regular price of $199.95, with B-stock units at $149.95 and all B-stock sales final1. MusicRadar reported a price of $199 at the time of its December 2023 article3. The maker says B-stock units have minor cosmetic defects but the same internal components as a standard pedal and carry the standard one-year warranty1.
