Mythos Pedals has released the Envy Pro Overdrive NV-9, an overdrive pedal based on the Tube Screamer circuit, MusicRadar reported on September 13, 20241. The Nashville company describes it as "inspired by the most iconic pedal of all time"2, and MusicRadar identifies that pedal as the Ibanez Tube Screamer1.
The pedal has three knobs: Level, which adjusts output; Tone, a "Classic TS Style Tone Circuit"; and Drive, which adjusts the amount of overdrive2. Two push buttons sit either side of the Tone control. Lows gives "Classic Low End (When Up), Increased Low End (When Pushed Down)"; Clip gives "Stock TS Soft Clipping (When Up), Diode Lift (When Pushed Down)"2. Mythos says that with the Clip button pushed "the diodes are disengaged for a louder, less compressed, more open sound"2.
Inside is a socketed RC4558P dual op amp chip, fitted so that users can try alternatives2. Mythos lists RC4558, JRC4558, TL072, OP275, OPA2604 and LM1458N among possible substitutes and notes the list is not exhaustive21. The pedal draws approximately 15 mA, has mono in and out, and measures 4.82 inches long, 2.62 inches wide and 1.43 inches high2.
"With its increased output, expanded drive range, and thickened low end, the Envy takes the TS formula and makes it more useful for every player, regardless of style."
No US list price was given in the sources.
