Silktone releases Fuzz+ Edition of its germanium fuzz pedal

Silktone has unveiled the Fuzz+, an updated version of its Fuzz Face style germanium fuzz pedal, which first arrived in 2022¹. Guitar World reported the release on October 18, 2024¹.

The Fuzz+ keeps the original's Volume, Fuzz and Cleanup controls and adds dials for bass and treble shape¹. According to Guitar World, the bass shape is said to go from tight and forward when turned down to full and round when cranked, and the treble control alters the high end for a softer sound¹. The Cleanup control is designed to clean up the fuzz the more it is pushed, mimicking a guitar's volume knob, and its taper is now said to be smoother¹. The Fuzz control has also been revised to work with the new Raw mode¹.

The second footswitch engages Raw mode, which bypasses the Cleanup knob and tone settings for what Guitar World calls a "full unimpeded fuzz tone"¹. The Raw mode replaces the hand switch function of the original pedal¹. Guitar Pedal X lists the controls as Volume, Fuzz, Cleanup / Impedance, Treble Shape, Bass Shape, Raw Mode Footswitch, Bias adjust and Bypass Footswitch².

Other changes include a higher output volume and power requirements that are now the standard 9V¹. The internal pickup simulator and the Bias feature return; the Bias dial sets the voltage that fuels the transistors and how they distort and clip the signal, with Silktone pairing the transistors to the one dial¹.

The Fuzz+ costs $269 and is available in Classic Black and Turquoise finishes¹. Guitar Pedal X reported the same $269 direct price from the Silktone webstore².
