Tech 21 Upgrades Its Bass Fly Rig to V2 Leave a comment

Tech 21 has announced the newest addition to its comprehensive fly rig roster, the new-and-improved Bass Fly Rig V2.

Looking to encourage bassists to emancipate themselves from the “tyrannies of overloaded flight cases” as well as the “oppression of evil backline loaners,” the revamped Bass Fly Rig V2 delivers an array of lush, expressive combos perfect for any gig.

Unlike its predecessor, the Bass Fly Rig V2 incorporates two of Tech 21’s SansAmp circuits, providing a selection of modes via the Character switch. While the VT Bass DI serves up Ampeg-esque sounds with more pronounced mids, the SansAmp Bass Driver DI offers various classic tube amp tones.

Working alongside the separate modes are circuit-specific drive and level channels for versatile sonic switching options so you can instantly change between dirty and clean tones.

New for the Bass Fly Rig V2 is, per the requests of Fly Rig fans, an Effect Loop, allowing a more flexible rig-integrating experience. A FET-style compressor is also on offer, along with an array of inbuilt effects like fuzz, chorus, and octafilter.

The Tech 21 Bass Fly Rig V2 lists for $299. For more details, check out the video below or head over to the brand’s website.
