Trace Elliot announced the Trace Elliot Overdrive, a bass overdrive pedal, in a release published on January 14, 20261. A second publication carried the same announcement on January 15, 20262.

The pedal is true bypass and is described as offering "classic full range overdrive specific for bass guitar"1. Trace Elliot credits a "proprietary high overhead soft asymmetrical clipping circuit" with contributing to what the announcement calls a vintage, tube-like drive1. An internal transformer is fitted to give more headroom to the signal, which the maker says ensures better tone quality, especially on lower frequencies1.

The four controls are:

ControlFunction
DRIVESets the amount of overdrive on the signal1
LEVELSets the overall output volume of the pedal1
TONEA basic EQ for defining overall tone1
BLENDMixes the clean and overdrive signals1

Alongside the 1/4-inch input and outputs, the pedal has a separate DRY OUT1. According to the announcement, this lets a player send the dirty signal to a separate amp while sending the dry signal to front of house or to an effects chain1.

"As a pioneer in bass amp innovation, Trace Elliot aims to set the standard in all bass overdrive pedals to follow."
Bass Magazine1

Neither announcement gives an on-sale date or states where the pedal will be sold12. Both publications carry the same product text, and neither adds specifications beyond the four controls, the DRY OUT, the internal transformer and the true bypass operation12.
