Wampler released the Germanium Tumnus Deluxe in July 2024, a limited edition of its Tumnus Deluxe overdrive built around a stash of germanium diodes the company describes as electronically identical to those used in the original Klon Centaur¹². The pedal was listed at $309.97 and is out of stock on the Wampler site¹. Guitar Pedal X reported that all supposed 2,500 units sold shortly after its July 26 write-up, with Wampler noting that cancellations might leave a few available³.

Wampler says the Germanium Tumnus Deluxe and the sold-out Germanium Tumnus are essentially the same circuits, with the Deluxe adding a 3-band EQ for finer control¹. Controls are Bass, Mids, Treble, Volume, Gain and a Normal/Hot voicing switch, plus a side-mounted buffer-bypass toggle¹³. Wampler says the hot switch adds more output and drive than most Klones¹. The pedal runs on 9V only, draws 80mA, has top-mounted jacks and measures 2.50 by 4.50 by 1.5 inches, height excluding knobs and switches¹. It is built in the U.S.A. and carries a limited 5-year warranty¹.

Guitar Pedal X reported the pedal uses USA-made crystal 1N34A germanium diodes, the type Bill Finnegan chose originally, and that earlier Tumnus versions used different diodes³. Wampler's page does not name the diode type¹. The two sources also differ on price: Wampler lists $309.97¹, while Guitar Pedal X gave $309 in a later Tumnus family roundup².

The Germanium Tumnus Deluxe is tagged by Wampler under boost and overdrive¹.
