Warm Audio and Dirty Boy launch Junior Series pedals

July 21, 2026 · 2 sources

Warm Audio and Dirty Boy released the Junior Series on July 21, 2026, a compact line of three pedals based on Dirty Boy designs1. The series covers a booster, an overdrive and a fuzz2. Dirty Boy will continue making its hand-built pedals alongside the new line1.

The three pedals and their controls, as listed by Guitar Pedal X2:

PedalBased onControls
BoosterDirty Boy Ball BusterDrive, Freq (Low End Voice: Tight / Balanced / Thick), Bass, Treble
OverdriveDirty Boy PreampGain, Volume, Variac (Voltage Starve), Tone
FuzzDirty Boy Afro FuzzFuzz, Level, Freq (Thick / Heavy to Sharp / Cutting)

MusicRadar describes the Booster as offering 10dB of analog boost with a three-way "H-M-L" Freq switch plus Bass and Treble controls, and the Fuzz as having Fuzz, Level and a 6-way Freq switch1. It describes the Overdrive as housing the Preamp circuit with Tube Amp Emulation technology, usable as an overdrive, a preamp or a modeler with an emulated output for going direct to a mixer, interface or FRFR speaker1.

The two outlets give different US prices. MusicRadar reports $169 for the Junior Series1; Guitar Pedal X reports $170 each and states the 1590BB originals sell for $349 each2. MusicRadar also puts the hand-built originals at $3491. Both outlets report the pedals as available now21.

Danny Gomez, who now owns Dirty Boy, told MusicRadar the choice of partner mattered because of the circuits involved1:

"For me, choosing the right partner was everything because these circuits have a history and personality that I wasn't willing to compromise."

Guitar Pedal X questioned the value, writing that it could "get better quality independent boutique pedals for the same price or less" and that circuit and component details for the Junior Series were scant, including how the original Afro Fuzz's germanium transistors were recreated2. MusicRadar reports that Neal Schon, Phil X, John Frusciante and Tom DeLonge have used Dirty Boy pedals1.
