The Alexander Space Force is a multi-mode stereo reverb pedal from Alexander Pedals. Alexander describes it as their updated take on the sounds of "elsewhere," for adding space to your sound1. It belongs to the company's Leap series, which the maker says improves upon their Neo Series platform in lots of ways1.
The pedal handles stereo in and out, with an input impedance of 1M ohms and an output impedance of 560 ohms, and carries a list price of $249.991.
Eight reverb engines
The Space Force carries eight reverb engines, up from six on the Space Race. Delicious Audio reported that the two new modes added were Echoverb and Dynamic, on top of the six already present on the earlier pedal2.
The maker describes the engines in detail on their product page. One example:
"PLATE: Based on a vintage studio reverb, this simulates the reflective properties of a giant metal plate."
The PLATE engine also includes a virtual tape pre-delay and adjustable tape flanging modulation, according to the maker1.
Stereo operation and connections
The Space Force is built for flexible stereo routing:
- Stereo audio input and output with phase correction1
- Input jack selectable for standard mono or TRS stereo signal input without opening the pedal1
- Output jacks usable as mono, two-cable stereo, or TRS stereo1
- Low-noise direct-coupled audio path1
Input impedance is 1M ohms and output impedance is 560 ohms1.
Expression, foot switch, and MIDI
The MultiJack enables expression pedal, foot switch, or MIDI input1. This continues a feature from the Space Race, whose EXP port on the left side worked the same way3. On the Space Race, MIDI input required a converter box such as the Neo Link, the Disaster Area / Chase Bliss MIDIBox, or a MIDI controller supporting 1/4" devices such as the Disaster Area Gen3 series, and the pedal defaulted to MIDI Channel 13.
The Space Force also has a CTL footswitch for tap tempo and ramp trigger1.
Presets and trails
The reverb and delay trails are configurable for hard bypass, full trails, or auto trails; in auto trails mode the reverb decays normally and then ramps to zero volume1. The CTL footswitch handles tap tempo and ramp triggering1.

Power and size
The Space Force requires an isolated DC power supply, DC 9V only, at 250mA or greater1. The current draw rules out battery power and means it should not be run from a shared daisy chain.
The enclosure measures 4.7" x 2.6" x 1.5" (H x W x D), not including the knobs1. The user manual and firmware are available from Alexander Pedals' support page1.
Where it sits in the Leap series and its link to the Space Race
The Space Force belongs to Alexander Pedals' Leap series. The maker says the Leap Series improves upon their popular Neo Series platform in lots of ways1. Delicious Audio described the Space Force as looking like an evolution of the Space Race, a Neo series multi-mode reverb stompbox23.
Alexander's reverb line has since continued with pedals such as the Now We Are Ghosts.

Questions
How many presets does the Alexander Space Force have?
It holds 32 onboard presets, arranged as 4 banks of 8 presets each. All of them are accessible on the pedal itself, with no need for external controls. That is twice the 16 presets of the earlier Space Race.
Can the Alexander Space Force run in stereo?
Yes. It has stereo audio input and output with phase correction. The input jack is selectable for standard mono or TRS stereo signal input without opening the pedal, and the output jacks work as mono, two-cable stereo, or TRS stereo.
What power does the Alexander Space Force need?
It runs on DC 9V only, drawing 250mA or greater, and requires an isolated DC power supply. That current draw rules out a battery and means it should not share a daisy chain with other pedals.
Can I connect an expression pedal or MIDI to the Space Force?
Yes. The MultiJack enables expression pedal, foot switch, or MIDI input. On the earlier Space Race, MIDI required a converter box such as the Neo Link or Disaster Area / Chase Bliss MIDIBox, or a MIDI controller supporting quarter-inch devices.
Does the Space Force have trails?
Yes. The reverb and delay trails are configurable for hard bypass, full trails, or auto trails. In auto trails mode the reverb decays normally and then ramps to zero volume.
How big is the Alexander Space Force?
It measures 4.7 by 2.6 by 1.5 inches, height by width by depth, not including the knobs. That is a compact enclosure that fits easily on a small pedalboard.
